Environmental Pest Control

Environmental Pest Control

Hi, we're Environmental Pest Control

Environmental Pest Control have been involved in Pest Control for over 33 years.

Customer satisfaction has always been our focus. We feel that we go the ‘extra mile’ to ensure that you are 100% satisfied. As members of the British Pest Control Association (BPCA) you can be sure you are dealing with professionals who won’t let you down.

We are at the forefront of pest control industry developments and own some of the latest technology available. This allows us to provide a more efficient cost effective service.

We comply with all legislation, guidelines and codes of practice and are regularly audited by the BPCA to ensure we maintain the high standards expected by the UK’s leading pest control trade association.

Our COSHH assessments, method statements, systems of work, risk assessments and environmental impact assessments are all generated in house by our qualified staff to ensure you don’t have to worry about any aspect of your pest control service.

We are passionate about wildlife and our environment and do everything possible to minimise our impact.

‘Environmental’ isn’t just a trendy word to us. As beekeepers we are fully aware of the impact that the inappropriate use of pesticides can have on the environment. The irresponsible and careless use of rodenticides can also lead to the secondary poisoning of our protected mammals and birds of prey.

All our technicians complete additional training and are accredited by the  Campaign for Responsible Rodenticides Use (CRRU) “Wildlife Aware Technicians”

Pest Control has moved into the 21st Century

Pest control has changed a great deal over the last few years.  The commitment to continuous development, which is required to maintain our professional memberships, display our passion for safe, cost effective pest control.

Where possible we explore the use of non toxic methods of control but we appreciate that this is not always possible. The decision to use pesticides is not taken lightly and we comply fully with the strict legal requirements when products are used.

Our aim is to provide long term solution not just quick fixes. Prevention is always better than cure and that is what we strive for.

None of our waste products go to landfill. Our trade waste is incinerated to produce electricity and our hazardous materials are returned to our suppliers Killgerm for environmental disposal and recycling. Where possible we use energy efficient products and services. The use of the latest technology helps us to minimise the use of paper and increase our efficiency.

What else do we do ?

Our experience in dealing with Pesticides has led us to diversify into herbicide treatments. Our knowledge and experience is now being used to safely treat ragwort which is a major problem for grazing animals and also weeds in public areas such as car parks, footpaths and recreational areas. So we are busy people but remember the saying “When you want something done, ask a busy person”. We are busy because our customers are happy and if they are happy so are we.

Ian

Ian has been involved in pest control and wildlife management for over 32 years.

After working for the local authority for 28 years Ian formed Environmental Pest Control with the aim of providing a friendly, professional service focused on long term solutions not quick fixes.

Ian holds the Level 2 Royal Society of Public Health Certificate in Pest Management and is one of the few holders of the Wildlife Aware Accreditation in the West Midlands. Ian is a beekeeper and is extremely aware of the need to use chemicals with extreme care to prevent any adverse impact on wildlife.

He is qualified by IPAF in the use of high access machinery and also qualified in the spraying of herbicides and the use of Aluminium Phosphide.

Ian specialises in insect control and bird proofing systems. He is also an accomplished mole catcher and wildlife management specialist.

Through hard work, training and excellent customer service, Environmental Pest Control has expanded and been awarded membership of the British Pest Control Association.

As part of our continued growth we are now members of The Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and provide our services to many West Midlands businesses of all sizes.

Sam

Sam joined the team in 2013 after working in the food industry while studying towards a degree in Computing. He quickly gained his level 2 Certificate in Pest Management with flying colours.

His knowledge and enthusiasm is reflected in the feedback from customers and his commitment reflects the high aims of Environmental Pest Control.

Sam is a self-confessed computer geek who can often be found sorting out customers’ IT problems as well as their pest problems.

Sam has also gained his Wildlife Aware Accreditation and is trained in high level access work. He specialises in rodent control, moles, bird control and bed bug control. He is also a firearms certificate holder.

Health and safety forms an important part of any business and Sam is part way through his NEBOSH General Certificate qualification and provides all our risk assessments, COSHH assessments and environmental impact assessments.

Kim

Kim can usually be found in the office sorting out the huge amounts of paperwork that we generate.

We do let her out occasionally and her pest knowledge is improving rapidly however she is at her happiest in the warm and dry.

Barney

Barney is our hardest working and most enthusiastic member of staff. His only fault is that he is liable to sulk if we refuse to take him out with us.

He is an expert in all types of pest control and will work all day long for the price of a dog biscuit.

If only we could teach him to drive!

Ron

Ron (Pictured in the centre receiving his employee of the month award) is our most experienced member of staff with over 60 years of experience. Although he takes things a bit easier these days he is still drafted in to help during busy periods and larger projects.

His health and safety experience is invaluable to us.
