Pest Advice - Cockroaches

Cockroaches present a real and serious risk to public health.

They carry and spread diseases to humans including salmonella, staphylococcus and streptococcus. They breed quickly and spread rapidly.

They are a difficult pest to treat by yourself as knowledge of their behaviour and biology is required, along with treatments that are not available to the public.

The two main species of Cockroaches in the UK are the German Cockroach and the Oriental Cockroach. Although they are both Cockroaches, they behave differently and correct identification of the species is essential in order to provide correct, effective treatment.

Depending on the size of the infestation, it can take weeks to eradicate them as they are extremely hardy creatures and will survive in conditions that are almost unsuitable for life. We use specialist bait designed to have a cascading effect on the cockroaches, we can also use a residual spray that will remain long after we have gone, meaning that you get continued protection.

If your premises is involved in the food chain a zero tolerance approach is the only acceptable approach and Environmental Health Officers take a very serious approach to any level of infestation. The reputational damage that can be suffered if word gets out of an infestation can be irreparable.
